Oklahoma has a strong wrestling history.
And we’d like to keep it that way.
To that end, the Tech Fall Group has been established to keep our top high school wrestling coaches from leaving the state or the sport, as well as to incentivize young graduates to pursue teaching and coaching high school wrestling as a career.
Our organization aims to achieve these goals by awarding financial bonuses to eligible coaches each year.
Promote
promote the sport of wrestling
Recognize
recognize proper coaching styles while providing training, development and mentorship to coaches
Develop
develop young athletes with first-class sportsmanship and responsibility
How It Works
An eligible coach must submit an application and agree to abide by our pledge by December 1, 2024. Head coaches in the boys division (classes 6A/5A/4A/3A) and in the girls division (6A/5A) will be given an award for placing at the end of the tournament.
In the event of a tie between teams in the final state championship scoring, we will apply the following tiebreaker, in the following order, to determine the final awards:
- most champions
- most placers (1st through 4th)
- most falls
Disclaimers:
If you do not submit an application, you are ineligible to receive an award. Even if your team finishes within the top-four at the state tournament, you forfeit the award and no money will be awarded.
A coach can only win one award, even if the coach places in both the boys and girls divisions. They will be paid only for their highest placement achieved.
A fifth-place finish does not receive an award.
